Presentation of the volume “La coscienza di luogo nel recente pensiero di Giacomo Becattini”

The University of Florence, the Tuscany Region and IRPET organize the presentation of the book La coscienza di luogo nel recente pensiero di Giacomo Becattini (“Place consciousness in the recent thought of Giacomo Becattini”), edited by Marco Bellandi, Full Professor at the Department of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Florence, and Alberto Magnaghi, Emeritus Professor of Territorial Planning at the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence.

After three months from the death of Giacomo Becattini, a multi-authored book witnesses the extraordinary richness and depth of the multidisciplinary and multifaceted cultural debate developed around the various presentations of his last book (La coscienza dei luoghi. Il territorio come soggetto corale [“The consciousness of places. The territory as a choral subject”], 2015) and, generally, around the concept of place consciousness, cornerstone of a new economic and social paradigm focussed on happiness rather than on products.
