{"id":30850,"date":"2026-01-13T14:09:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T13:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irpet.it\/evento\/28th-siet-conference-expanding-connections-to-tackle-protectionism-environmental-challenges-and-inequality-call-for-papers\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T17:09:54","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T15:09:54","slug":"28th-siet-conference-expanding-connections-to-tackle-protectionism-environmental-challenges-and-inequality-call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"evento","link":"https:\/\/www.irpet.it\/en\/evento\/28th-siet-conference-expanding-connections-to-tackle-protectionism-environmental-challenges-and-inequality-call-for-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"28th SIET Conference: Building Connections to tackle Protectionism, Environmental Challenges, and Inequality"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florence, 10\u201311 September 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are pleased to announce that the 28th Conference of the Italian Society of Transport Economics and Logistics (SIET) will be held on 10\u201311 September 2026 at IRPET (Regional Institute for Economic Planning of Tuscany) in Florence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Keynotes<\/strong><br>Professors\u00a0<strong>Enrico Giovannini<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Universit\u00e0 di Roma Tor Vergata and Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile and\u00a0<strong>Juan Montero<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 European University Institute, Florence School of Regulation, will serve as the keynote speakers at this year\u2019s conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Extended Abstract submission<\/strong><br>Interested presenters should submit an\u00a0<strong>extended abstract<\/strong>\u00a0(1000 to 2000 words) by\u00a0<del>March 31st, 2026<\/del>\u00a0<strong>April 18th, 2026<\/strong>, using the template available in Italian (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sietitalia.org\/download\/44\/call-for-paper\/4990\/repot_template2026-long-abstract-convegno_ita.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>) or in English (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sietitalia.org\/download\/44\/call-for-paper\/4989\/repot_template2026-long-abstract-convegno_en.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>). Submission is made through the module available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfNP4xhOBU1YE0hCtBJoJEQ_ec8bzOyCgSRP8MJ787monbNkw\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>. The abstract should clearly state the research question(s), the methodology, the main (or expected) results and a list of selected references. Organizers will later consider the possibility to publish accepted extended abstracts in Rivista di economia e politica dei trasporti (REPoT). Additional publication opportunities may be proposed at a later stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Call for Special Sessions<\/strong><br>Interested scientists can propose\u00a0<strong>special thematic sessions<\/strong>\u00a0by February 28th, 2026, at the following mail: conferenzaSIET2026@gmail.com. These sessions will typically consist of 4 contributions, that should be specified by the proponent. The submission should include the name(s) of the proponent(s), title of the session, an abstract (maximum 200 words, 3-4 keywords), and a list of possible contributions (title, author(s), affiliations, corresponding contacts). Special sessions from other scientific associations are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Awards<\/strong><br>During the conference, SIET will assign the following awards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sietitalia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SIET_PHD_2026_.pdf\"><strong>SIET Prize for PhD Thesis in Transport Economics<\/strong><\/a>: a\u00a0<strong>EUR 1,000<\/strong>\u00a0prize, funded by the\u00a0<strong>Autorit\u00e0 di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale<\/strong>, awarded to the best doctoral thesis in transport economics discussed at an Italian university in 2025 or by April 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sietitalia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SIET_best_paper_26_.pdf\"><strong>SIET Best Paper Award<\/strong><\/a>: an award for young researchers under 35, dedicated to an outstanding unpublished paper in the field of transport economics and logistics. The prize consists of\u00a0<strong>EUR 300<\/strong>\u00a0and a two-year SIET membership fee waiver.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sietitalia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SIET_best_paper_26_intermodality_.pdf\"><strong>2026 SIET \u2013 Interporto Toscano A. Vespucci Best Paper Award<\/strong><\/a>: a new\u00a0<strong>EUR 1,750<\/strong>\u00a0award, granted by\u00a0<strong>Societ\u00e0 Interporto Toscano A.
