On 2 December 2025, at the INPS General Directorate (Sala Aldo Moro, Via Ciro il Grande 21 – Rome), the initiative “The economics of ageing and pensions” will take place, a day of in-depth analysis dedicated to demographic changes and their impact on economic, employment and social security systems. The event is organised by the INPS Central Studies and Research Directorate, with the participation of scholars from national universities and research institutes, and with the contribution of the AGE-IT programme, represented by Daniele Vignoli.
An interdisciplinary discussion on demographic change
The ageing population is one of the main challenges facing European economic and welfare systems. The study day proposed by INPS aims to examine the impact of demographic transition on work, consumption, savings and pension schemes, bringing together economists, demographers, policy makers and researchers.
The programme is divided into two thematic sessions, interspersed with discussions and a keynote speech on the economic and social effects of ageing.
