EUROPEAN POLICIES AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE TERRITORY: REFLECTIONS AND ANALYSIS

The journal of the SRM Study and Research Center follows the European Union’s growth path in light of new geoeconomic and political developments. It then analyzes the role of decentralized public administrations within the PNRR and reports two contributions on the “development trap,” one of the factors in the partial failure of cohesion policy, and on the RED III directive and the use of hydrogen in energy policies, with particular reference to the Puglia Region’s strategy.

The section curated by Intesa Sanpaolo’s European Regulatory & Growth Policies Office focuses primarily on the EU’s immediate future, starting with von der Leyen’s State of the Union address just months before the end of her mandate. This is followed by an in-depth look at the implementation of the Fit for 55 regulation and, subsequently, the completion of key initiatives for the 55% reduction in climate-altering emissions in the EU.

The third part is dedicated to a “special innovative startup” in the blue economy and, finally, two interesting interviews on combined transport and the world of innovation are reported, respectively with Ralf-Charley Schultze, President of UIRR (International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport) and Gabriele Ferrieri, President of ANGI (National Association of Young Innovators).

This issue focuses primarily on the impact of the growth resources made available by the new recovery programs, with an in-depth look at the PNRR and the role of local authorities. The section curated by Intesa Sanpaolo’s European Regulatory & Growth Policies Office then analyzes the new EU policies, in light of recent events and closely related to their impact on our region. Discover all the articles and don’t miss the special feature on innovative blue economy startups and the interviews on combined transport and the world of innovation, with Ralf-Charley Schultze, President of UIRR, and Gabriele Ferrieri, President of ANGI, respectively.

Claudia Ferretti, Giuseppe F. Gori and Patrizia Lattarulo edited the article “Municipal administrations in the era of the PNRR” (page 10).
