Survey on “Evaluation of the effectiveness of the communication strategy of the ERDF and ESF+ programmes”

The study was commissioned by IRPET by the ESF and ERDF Managing Authorities and was conducted as part of the joint activities between IRPET and the Tuscany Region. It was conducted by Format Research, which conducted the surveys among citizens and businesses and drafted the report under the supervision of Silvia Duranti and Natalia Faraoni, within the IRPET research areas “Public Economy” (coordinated by Patrizia Lattarulo) and “Productive Sectors and Businesses” (coordinated by Marco Mariani).

The aim of this report is to analyze and evaluate the Tuscany Region’s communication and information activities on the opportunities offered by the ESF+ and ERDF programs.

Specifically, the research is organized as follows. Sections 2, 3, and 4 contain the results of three sample surveys, respectively, aimed at the resident population of Tuscany, manufacturing and service companies, and beneficiaries of activities or projects funded through the ESF+. The aim of these surveys was to identify and analyze the level of awareness of the ERDF and ESF+ EU programs among the various target groups. The interviews were conducted using the mixed CATI-CAWI method from March 21 to April 10, 2025. Section 5 concludes with a summary.
