The Tuscan economy: between stability and slowdown

The Tuscan economy, like that of the country as a whole, is currently experiencing a period of economic weakness, set against an international backdrop marked by significant geopolitical uncertainty, market tensions and a slowdown in global trade. Against this backdrop, economic activity remains moderate overall and is characterised by mixed signals across different sectors and components of demand. The slowdown in the labour market was accompanied, towards the end of the year, by some signs of recovery in manufacturing and export performance that remained positive, albeit heavily influenced by sector-specific and one-off factors. Overall, the picture that emerges is of an economic system that retains elements of resilience but continues to be affected by unfavourable cyclical conditions.
