THE ECONOMIC SITUATION IN THE PROVINCES OF TUSCANY

Economic Report No. 44/2026, edited by C. Agnoletti, E. Conti, M. Donati, T. Ferraresi, S. Iommi, and D. Marinari

The data for the first quarter of 2026 paint a picture of a regional economy that is still growing, but at a slower pace and marked by more pronounced regional disparities.

The residential real estate market, discussed for the first time in this article, is also showing a selective recovery: sales are increasing mainly in certain municipalities that are not provincial capitals, while prices remain stable overall. The picture that emerges is one of a Tuscany that remains dynamic but is more uneven, where provincial trends depend increasingly on economic specializations, international openness, and the quality of local markets.
