The work is part of the Institute’s institutional programme of activities and was carried out in agreement with the “POR-FESR Managing Authority” Department of the Tuscany Region, headed by Angelita Luciani. All’ideazione e scrittura del report hanno contribuito: Natalia Faraoni, Tommaso Ferraresi, Marco Mariani, Leonardo Piccini, Nicola Sciclone.

The report analyses the consistency between the technological priorities identified by the STEP platform – aimed at strengthening European technological sovereignty – and regional innovation strategies in Tuscany. The survey is based on an examination of planning documents and a qualitative review of the regional production system, with the aim of identifying any thematic and sectoral convergences. Although these are areas involving a limited number of economic actors, there are signs of positioning along strategic value chains, which could evolve in line with STEP trajectories. The study highlights the importance of active monitoring and reflection on opportunities for future development, even in the absence of formal obligations.
